It was in the small and wonderful church of Saint-Caprais that the concert was held given by Jean Zorzin on trumpet and Sylvie on piano under the organization of the local association “Savoir-Être”. This cultural encounter turned out to be very rich because it allowed the public to discover, in addition to a choice repertoire, part of Jean Zorzin's collection of instruments. This distinguished musician, professor at the Conservatory, gave us the history of the trumpet, from the Kingdom of France to the present day. Indeed, many models were the subject of a special presentation, each time with a demonstration on a piece chosen with absolute authenticity. Giving the smallest detail on the cornets, the cavalry trumpet, the bugle and the flugelhorns, the artist transported us from Egypt thanks to “Aida” to Germany without omitting the tradition specific to Alsace-Lorraine and well of course the unmissable Italy… Throughout this journey, it is the oldest music that resounded alongside the tunes of the Belle-Époque, of the Parisian salons in the years “40” through classical music and especially jazz, a true culture, which has been able to maintain itself until the contemporary era… Each instrument has its function, military use was often taken as a reference. The different stages of modernization of instruments with the invention of the piston also brought a new direction to the instrument, the presence of which is noted throughout the entire spectrum of the music-loving environment. Before closing, the public was invited to take an interactive part in this most pleasant moment with traditional Christmas carols.
The “Savoir Etre” association plans to regularly organize music concerts such as this one. Contact: Alain Jackel 06 88 08 59 37?
