Alex Beaupain awkward with Clara Luciani in “Quotidien”

“Friendship is a landscape”as Clara Luciani recalls this Friday, December 20. For the last of 2024, “Quotidien” wanted “an ultra-cool and super chic red thread guest”. The singer takes her first steps in the cinema in the musical Pretty prettyproduced by Diastème. She plays opposite José Garcia, Laura Felpin, Victor Belmondo and William Lebghil. The score is signed by Alex Beaupain.

The latter joins Clara Luciani on the set of Yann Barthès' talk show. “For once, no one dies, it’s not going to be sordid”laughs the composer more accustomed to setting to music tragic stories like Love songs with Louis Garrel.

It's a job for a lazy movie actor.

The challenge facing the casting of Pretty, pretty was to make actors and actresses who were not necessarily comfortable with the exercise sing. “Before hiring them permanently, I had them at the piano and I checked that there was no total inability to align two notes,” begins to provoke Alex Beaupain. “If there is one thing that is difficult with actors it is making them work, especially those in cinema”he continues before insisting: “it’s a job for a lazy film actor”.

Theater actors fare a little better in their judgment because “you have to learn texts”. “At the cinema, you don’t do anything all day”. Clara Luciani laughed heartily, like the rest of the set, until the singer intervened: “I worked, I found it hard”.

“But you needed it”replies Alex Beaupain who only awkwardly points out that this is the singer's first film role. The latter pretends to be upset to better let her accomplice catch up: “Poor thing! That's not what I meant. She worked so well. She was obviously very stressed. When I had Clara in the studio, you can imagine the happiness. She has a natural acting talent that is quite incredible.”. “Yes, I’m rowing hard”he admits, rightly.
