It took about a week a hundred bombs et lots of acrylic for the artist Stom500, known in Strasbourg for the decoration of street furniture or certain CTS buses, to create this fresco.
Visible on rue d’Orbey, it adorns a building bar. Its size makes it unmissable.
“My biggest fresco in Strasbourg”
“It’s my biggest fresco in Strasbourg. It represents a royal crane which has on its back a tiger shaped rug. On it sits a small monkey, of a species found in Asia. In front of the crane, there is a hamster d’Alsace by parachute. There are also water lilies and tropical plants,” explains the artist.
These designs were chosen at the suggestion of residents. “We had several tracks, one with animals from the region and one another a little more open on the world. It was the second proposal that was selected,” adds Stom500.
The bees, its trademark, are also there. “For me, they are the link between all animals. It’s a symbol of living together because they live in a hive, in synchronicity. »
Self-taught artist
Stom500 is a self-taught artist who started with “graffiti, murals made with friends in skateparks, wastelands. »
His works can be discovered all over the world, including Whashigton and Lisbon, but it is based in Strasbourg.
