“Murders in Tournai” this evening on La Une: the first “Murders in” filmed in Belgium

On Thursday, December 19, the Belgian channel La Une broadcasts the new detective film Murders in Tournai (2024) by Gary Seghers with Alexia Depicker and David Kammenos in the lead. The opinion and film review of Bulles de Culture.

Synopsis :

An arm with a bee tattoo is found under the Pont des Trous in Tournai. The arm may have drifted for a long time on the Scheldt before being found under the bridge. Given this uncertainty about the crime scene, Mathilde (Alexia Depicker), inspector of Tournai, is assisted by Vincent (David Kammenos), a French police officer. With a scenario of Nicolas Moulin et Simon Rochemana picture of Thomas Wilski, decorations of Milosz Martyniakcostumes of Nathalie Leborgnea sound of Leny Andrieuxa montage of Baptiste Dussertoriginal music by Daniel Offermann and a realization of Gary Seghers, Murders in Tournai is therefore the first episode of the collection of detective TV films Murders in… whose filming took place in Belgium.

Following the report of the severed arm of a woman, with a bee tattoo, in a river crossing a Belgian town, located not far from the French border, a Belgian inspector (Alexia Depicker, seen in the series Truce), 5 months pregnant and in conflict with her partner (Martin Swabeyseen in the films Mr. Nobody et Largo Winch: The Price of Money), and his colleagues (Habib Ben Tanfous et Nathalie Besançon) must collaborate with a French commander (David Kammenos), in tourist and vaping mode, in the boatmen community.

Our opinion?

Murders, barges, smuggling, burglary, hacking, traumatic past… despite a slow and hesitant start as well as a duo that is a little too mismatched, we let ourselves be taken in by the suspense of this Murders in Tournaiwhich fills, for this first outside of France, a Murders at…, respectably the specifications of the genre.
