Final listed of the season, the Prix Arcangues, the second stage of the winter challenge “Polytrack Challenge” in the intermediate/classic section returned to Nocturnal Omen. On October 27, the latter failed in the Prix Royal-Oak (Gr. I) but that did not dampen the punters who renewed their confidence in him by finally designating him favorite a few minutes before the start, while he discovered the PSF in competition. In the first part of the race, the son of Wootton Bassett traveled well before he ended up finding himself thick, nose to the wind, in the straight. Not letting go of anything, Nocturnal Omen finally left in the final straight, pushing back the returnee’s good return to the end Goya Lady. “He made us vibrate throughout the year” exclaims the winning coach, Alessandro Botti. He is a colt who started his career late, but who has only progressed over the races. He’s really becoming mature. Today he is running really well because he didn’t have a good run. He will be able to travel this winter, because I think he could have an interesting program in Dubai. He likes fast-paced races.”
Good finisher all outside, Goya Ladywho had not been seen since his failure in the Prix Gladiateur (Gr. III), last September, delighted his mentor, Yann Barberot, who taught us. “The horse is making a very good comeback. The most important thing was to see him draw a nice straight line and that’s what he did, especially as he gave weight to his rivals. This good performance has earned him a great vacation in the sun because we will now go to Dubai!” At a length, third place goes to Hookingunhappy in the Prix Lyphard – Polytrack Challenge (L.), recently, which this time leaned close to the post. The commissioners quickly opened an investigation into this but the finish was maintained.
