Ariana Grande has warned her fans that they will have to wait “years” before they can make new music.

The 31-year-old sensation has had a string of hits since 2011, releasing her seventh album, Eternal Sunshine, last March and delighting her fans on four high-energy tours over the years.

But after winning praise and gaining box office clout with her role in the musical hit Wicked, Grande signaled she was stepping away from music indefinitely.

The One Last Time singer told Variety: “I’m very grateful for acting, and I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life. But I don’t see it coming anytime soon. »

Following this bombshell, the star suggested that it would take some time before she felt ready to take the microphone again.

She cautioned: “I think in the next few years I hope we explore different art forms, and I think acting feels like home right now. I appreciate (my fans’) understanding. I’m so grateful for how we’ve grown together throughout this journey with Wicked. »

She hastened to add: “But music will always be part of my life. I will perform at my mother’s house. »

Fans can currently see her showing off her pipe in theaters as she plays Glinda Upland in Wicked – Part I, and she will reprise the role in Wicked: For Good which hits theaters in November 2025.
