Since 2017, the “Yonn Art Lot” event has combined contemporary Caribbean art with solidarity. This collective exhibition is back for an 8th edition at the Palais des Congrès in Madiana, until December 28. Organized each year for charitable purposes, the auction takes place on Tuesday, December 17.
“Yonn Art Lot” brings together several generations of Antillo-Guyanese artists around the same conviction: art has the power to change lives, “one after the other”.
For this new edition, around ten artists are mobilizing to put their talent at the service of a cause: childhood. The funds collected will be partly donated to an association, selected following a call for projects, which operates in areas such as education, health or art linked to childhood.
We really trust the actors on the ground who know their job and the reality of the needs.

Each year, participating artists demonstrate their generosity. One of their works is entirely donated to the cause. For the other creations exhibited, 30% of sales are donated to the beneficiary association.
The human is the condition of the artistic. Showing humanity, therefore solidarity, therefore living together, is what also nourishes my work. Who is not affected by the cause of childhood? All causes are important and indeed, each year, this association offers us a different cause because there are so many, and each time, we join, of course.

In the past, the funds had been allocated to associations fighting against cancer.
Each edition allows us to raise between 3,000 and 4,000 euros, an amount that makes the difference for local associations.
Young visual artists are also joining the movement to carry their message.
I think everyone can make their contribution. Every little gesture counts, and every action can bring comfort to everyone, regardless of the area. So for me, it’s an essential relay, and I think that more and more, everyone is getting involved in the cause.

Among the artists expected this year, we find in particular Ricardo Ozier-Lafontaine, Maud, and Christophe Maire. They will be present during the auction on Tuesday December 17 at 7 p.m. The exhibition will remain accessible until Saturday December 28.
