Cynthia Erivo only slept two to three hours a night while filming “Wicked.”

The 37-year-old actress plays Elphaba in the big screen adaptation of the famous musical and revealed she has to get up extra early every day for a two-hour workout session.

According to People magazine, the actress confided during a screening of the film at the Ted Mann Theater at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles: “I think I consciously move towards things that exhaust me physically and mentally, because I believe that the body and the mind are intrinsically, truly intrinsically linked. Sometimes it’s the body telling the mind what to do, and sometimes it’s the mind telling the body what to do, because I feel like a very physical person. I want both in action. I want both used. »

Cynthia explained that her daily workouts were necessary to get in the best possible shape for her flying scenes.

She continues: “I had never flown before. I knew I wanted to do it, I had stolen a little before, but never like this. And for that, your heart must be as strong as possible, because the cables take you from one place to another. JoMcLaren, my stunt coordinator, was very nice to me. She asked me if I was sure I wanted to do all this. And I said ‘Yes’. »
