Stanislas Carmont, simply artist

His own little thing is acting in theater and cinema. Portrait of Stanislas Carmont, 26 years old, member of the Théâtre du Cristal in Eragny-sur-Oise.

The immense success – more than 10 million admissions – of the film “Un p’tit truc en plus” brought Stanislas Carmont into the spotlight. He plays Alexander in the film. A modest beginning to fame. “ Without the Théâtre du Cristal, everything would have been more complicated. He paved the way for me to start my acting career in theater and cinema “, he observes, grateful. Linked to an ESAT, the Eragny-sur-Oise association trains, performs, supports and represents exclusively disabled actors.

Stanislas, 26 years old, has just obtained the status of Intermittent in the show. Its difficult attribution does not in any way distinguish autistic artists from others. Which suits him very well. “ The unexpected success of Un p’tit truc en plus advances the subject of autism. It’s not a barrier that stops me from being an actor. I never forget what I am. But I want to break away from this label.» He is simply an artist! “ We must always use our difference as a strength, as an accomplishment that allows us to succeed and be accepted as we are.»

You must always use your difference as a strength.

Actor in cinema and theater, Stanislas Carmont is also a writer of songs, and an energetically fast-paced performer on stage with the rock group Asteréotypie. His singular voice – a unique deep timbre and finely crafted delivery – leaves a mark on the ear. Stanislas will not make a full-time profession. “ Music with Asteréotypie is a passion. The more energy I give on stage, the more successful the concert is for me and for others.» Curious about everything, from the English language to politics, he regularly acts as a journalist for Les Rencontres du Papotin. “ The act of playing transports me, makes me forget anxiety and stress, frees me.»
