As the year ends and the last presents find their place under the tree, the Masked Singers team goes into festive mode. The usual decor gives way to Christmas decorations and the musical menu is filled with a handful of timeless classics of the season for a show with the aromas of pie and cranberries. The show begins with Mélissa Bédard, who leaves the panel of investigators occupied by Sam Breton, Stéphane Rousseau and Anouk Meunier to go on stage alongside the Riverin sisters, the time to interpret with her powerful voice Minuit, Christians so popular with Quebecers on New Year’s Eve.

This musical moment is sure to give viewers chills, as our investigators can attest. They then share some of their fondest memories of the holiday season while enjoying a glass of bubbles, just to toast everyone’s health. They then discover that a new masked singer has come to brighten up their evening, even if he is always very busy during the white season. But who is hiding under the Santa Claus costume?

Return home

The members of the panel take the opportunity to exchange gifts, before hearing two former winners of the show who find their costumes to fan the festive flame of visibly energized spectators. Michel Courtemanche once again dons the costume of the Chameleon, with which he won top honors last year, while Véronique Claveau dons that of the Queen of the day and the night, which allowed her to be crowned winner of the second season of the show. “People talk to me more about the Chameleon than anything I’ve done on !” admits the comedian and director at the end of his performance, during which he performs a tune immortalized by the group Bündock.

As for the singer, who spent part of her fall playing the role of Céline Dion in the musical Titanic, she dusts off a timeless song made famous by Brenda Lee in the 1950s. “In my relationship, it’s me who plays the role of the Grinch, while my boyfriend starts putting up the decorations as soon as he can, at the beginning of November,” she admits.

Mystery and Christmas ball

Despite two rounds of clues, investigators will have great difficulty identifying our mystery singer of the day, who performs a song intended for the character he plays. Dressed in red and white, the latter surrounds himself with choristers dressed in fir dresses and musicians wearing pixie hats to take us into his Nordic kingdom. Asked to guess his identity, the investigators will make predictions that are sometimes imaginative and sometimes improbable. After all, in a show like Masquerade Singers, anything is possible!

Without revealing whether one of them actually discovered the identity of our visitor who came down from the sky, we can say that Mélissa Bédard took advantage of the opportunity to make a wish shared by many viewers. It remains to be seen whether our cheerful gift distributor will respond by placing a fifth season of the show under his tree this year!
