For the first time in the country of Lorient, a techno music festival was offered, Saturday evening December 14, 2024, at the Lanester exhibition center. We often talk in our columns about wild, totally illegal raves. Here, everything was legal and well regulated. Pandemic Events and Le Périscope launched their first Illusion festival in Grenoble in 2023. The concept was popular and the two organizers decided to export it, for the first time, outside Isère. Diogenes productions was responsible for organizing Lanester’s evening with an exceptional line-up of nine musicians who took turns on a single stage, until 4 a.m., in front of 6,500 spectators. “It’s been full for several days. It’s a great success! We will return to Morbihan,” says Benjamin Urquijo of Pandemic, but also a musician under the name Le Bask and on stage at the end of the evening. The concept of Illusion appealed to audiences from all over Brittany. “All the hotels are full this evening,” says Sylvain Nguyen of Periscope, “we bring together all the styles of electronic music in one place: trance, hardtechno, hardcore.” The two organizers are pleased to have “taken the underground to an exhibition center, with sound, lighting and prevention professionals on site to avoid excesses”.
