The general assembly of the Lorient interceltic festival was held on Saturday December 14, 2024, at the Amzer Nevez center, in Ploemeur, in front of more than a hundred volunteers. On the program: the results of the previous edition which was shortened, but “very successful with 650,000 visitors, including 92,000 for the Grand Parade”, recalls Jean Paul Kihl, the president.
Treasurer Éric Brishoual specifies that “the festival is a colossus with feet of clay. We must study the costs of the sites, solicit more volunteers than in 2024 when there were 1,500, and prospect professional and individual partners to generate new resources in the face of inflation with increasing costs.
A new Breton language commission is created with partnerships, training and an agreement with the Breton language office. The Associative Life commission keeps the festival alive all year round, the groups relocated to the towns of the conurbation are a success and a satisfaction. “Ti ar vro, the country’s home for the festival is still in the works and we hope it will come to fruition in 2025.” The Autumn Thread Day is renewed on November 29, 2025. This year’s program will be presented on March 27, 2025 and a general assembly concerning the next edition and the financial report will take place on May 17, 2025.
