Cody Rhodes was scheduled to defend his WWE Undisputed Championship for Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024 special on December 14.
The champion had to face the man who hates everything in Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens. The Quebec wrestler did not appreciate Cody’s decision to help Roman Reigns and he wanted to make him pay.
Cody Rhodes was able to counter attacks from Kevin Owens to remain the undisputed WWE Champion, albeit with a bit of cheating. In fact, the referee found himself on the mat by mistake on two occasions during the match. Kevin Owens even had the victory in his hands, but there was no longer a referee in the ring.
The second time, Kevin Owens wanted to use a chair and take advantage of the opportunity, but it was Cody Rhodes who avoided the attack and performed his Cross Rhodes on the chair to make the count of three.
Cody Rhodes thus remains the champion, but with this end of the match we can imagine that their story is not over.
