A Christmas concert is offered by the Vincentian association Evoé and its partner, La Voix des Pins, the Jacutaise choir, this Saturday, December 14, in the church, at 4 p.m. An initiative which mobilizes all the strengths of the two associations around a partnership which could become regular.

But while waiting for other collaborations, for now, the artists are preparing and warming up their voices, even if some are still in the Cholet region! “On that day, in fact, students to whom I teach singing will perform, including those I had at the time when I lived in the Cholet region and who have always followed me”explains Céline Roubieu, singing teacher within the Evoé association (acronym for Espace Voix et Équilibre) based in Saint-Vincent-sur-Oust since 2020. “So they will travel expressly for the concert! » Proof of their attachment to this professor who also gives lessons at the Cfmi Bretagne (Training Center for Musicians) at the University of Rennes 2. “Moreover, the association is open to anyone who wishes to learn singing, from beginners to professionals. »

But this Saturday, on the church stage, it is the adult amateur singers of Evoé who will give voice. “Solo or in a duo, it’s an opportunity to showcase them or discover the audience’s experience! » An aspect that the singers of La Voix des Pins, led by choir director Véronique Tinet, already know well. This choir is used to giving concerts, notably in the church of Saint-Jacut-les-Pins, like the one on December 21 in which students from Evoé will also sing.

Christmas carols also in English

Father Jean-Baptiste Labadeh, parish priest, navigates between these two communes. This year, he was won over by the vocals of the singers from the Vincentian association. “He heard our little performance given at the last Fête de la Musique. He suggested we do something for Christmas.”says Céline Roubieu, delighted with the proposal.

The public should be happy if this program is to be believed: traditional Christmas carols “that everyone knows; the public will even be able to participate” ; lyrical singing will also be part of the score (Vivaldi, Schubert, etc.); just like songs accompanied by guitar. “And we will have the organist Joël Guillet to accompany us throughout this concert, which lasts about an hour and a half. »

Finally, like a gift under the tree for the English in the region, the organization is planning songs in their mother tongue. “The opportunity for them to come and enjoy this festive moment around Christmas in song! It is a proposal from an English Vincentian, a neighbor of the association. »A perfect idea to achieve the organizers’ stated goal: “Bringing people together during the Christmas celebrations around an artistic and friendly project! »
