Pierre Palmade has been incarcerated since Monday December 9 in Gradignan prison. We now know a little more about his living conditions in this prison.
Pierre Palmade has been incarcerated in Gradignan prison since Monday, December 9, three weeks after being sentenced to five years in prison, including two years, for causing a serious road accident while under the influence of drugs. The comedian did not appeal his conviction, thus making the decision final.
He followed the usual route
Since his incarceration, many have wondered under what conditions he is being held. Wilfried Fonck, national secretary of the UFAP, gave details on this subject at the microphone of RTL France. He affirmed that Pierre Palmade does not benefit from any preferential treatment: “He followed the usual route of any inmate upon arriving at the establishment. He went through the standard procedures, and the prison administration decided to place him in solitary confinement, in particular because of his notoriety. From there, the detention takes its course” he said.
This is not a hotel room
Currently, Pierre Palmade is in solitary confinement, which means he has no contact with other inmates and is in an individual cell. This cell measures between nine and twelve square meters and is equipped with a television screen, a table, a chair, a bed and storage space for personal belongings, like any other cell. “Whether it’s solitary confinement or not, it’s not a hotel room“, explained Wilfried Fonck.
For the moment, it has not yet been confirmed whether the comedian will receive specific treatment in prison for his addiction problems.
