Three months after the death of a relative of Marseille rapper SCH, in a shooting in front of a nightclub in La Grande-Motte in Hérault, the Marseille judicial police and the Montpellier gendarmes carried out a vast joint operation this Monday, December 2 against the DZ Mafia, which led to the taking into custody of 21 people, including six already detained, according to information from the Parisian (paid item). This police custody can last 96 hours. Contacted by France 3 Provence-Alpes, the Marseille prosecutor's office has not yet confirmed this information, but the public prosecutor should speak soon on this matter.
The investigation concerns deadly extortion attempts orchestrated by the DZ Mafia, a lead in the death of a member of the SCH team, last August 26 at dawn, near La Dune Club, near Montpellier, where the artist had just performed. An investigation had been opened for “murder by an organized gang, attempted murder by an organized gang and participation in a criminal association”. For several years, the Marseillais has been the victim of racketeering attempts and death threats on encrypted messaging on social networks.
Investigators, according to The Parisiandiscovered that the commando operation of August 26 would have been organized by “the enemies of SCH” and subcontracted to the DZ Mafia, who allegedly directed it “especially from prison”. Among the 21 people accused, six were taken from their cells, in several penitentiary establishments in the south-east.
The DZ Mafia is currently in the crosshairs of Marseille investigators who are increasing the number of arrests. On November 22, 23 people suspected of having participated in extortion in
organized gang, on behalf of the “DZ Mafia”, had been brought before a judge. And on November 26, one of its leaders, Amine O, known as “Mamine Escobar”, was placed in police custody in the investigation into a double assassination committed in Marseille in November 2023.
This raid, carried out by commission of an investigating judge, comes on the same day that the 31-year-old singer gives a preview concert of his album in Paris JVLIVS III: At the End scheduled for release on December 6. It's the first date of a tour, placed under police protection.
