A distant galaxy at your fingertips
In August 2021, Zynga and NaturalMotion announced Star Wars : Hunters during a Nintendo Direct. Planned for Switch and mobiles, the game will be postponed several times to be released 3 years later, in June 2024. Hero shooter free-to-play en 4v4, Star Wars : Hunters was ultimately received rather lukewarmly by the press and the publicalthough it obviously managed to find an audience invested enough for the game to live.
Recently entered its fourth season, Star Wars : Hunters also revealed the future release of a PC version. An announcement that came as a surprise, which may have surprised some players and may be aimed in particular at players who do not have a Switch and/or who were put off by the fact that it is a mobile game.
Zynga’s action plan
Among the future improvements of this PC version: maps with improved graphics but also new maps and new characters. The developers also announced plans to add cross-platform progression and crossplaywhen it is released in Early Access on January 27.
Until then, Star Wars : Hunters will have two phases of playtests, from December 13 to 16 then from January 10 to 13for which you can already register via the Steam page. NaturalMotion estimates that the game will remain in early access until mid-2025, in the hope of being able to collect as much player feedback as possible to improve their port, promising regular updates and patches. Previously questioned on the subject, the developers expressed that they were not considering a console port of Star Wars Hunters: something that could possibly change depending on the success of their PC port.
