The incident occurred Thursday afternoon in Luxembourg city around 4 p.m. According to information from our colleagues, the victim was walking from the Christmas market ice rink in the company of a friend when he was attacked by three dogs who were in the park near a “person at shady behavior.”
Emergency services confirmed that a young man was treated early Thursday evening following animal bites.
Quoted by a Luxembourg media outlet, the victim’s father explains that his son was thrown to the ground and bitten several times on the leg. After an initial emergency intervention on site by the CGDIS teams, the young victim had to be hospitalized for several hours in order, in particular, to receive an anti-rabies vaccine.
The young man’s father points out that his son managed to get rid of the dogs and scare them away before the person who was nearby also fled. The father wonders what would have happened if the dogs had attacked a person incapable of defending themselves.
He confirms that his son is traumatized but “is fine“.
