Gérard Darmon is accused by several women of inappropriate gestures and comments. Facts that the actor denies outright and which would have taken place between 2018 and 2024 on the set of six films. The investigation was carried out and revealed by the magazine Political. Of around twenty women affected by his actions, nine agreed to give their testimonies to journalists. They depict “humiliations”, “sexist insults”, as well as a “permanent feeling of insecurity”.
Judith Godrèche, who caused a shock wave in French cinema last February by accusing Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon of rape and sexual assault, reacted to this affair on the set of Daily this Friday, November 29. “I find it very good that speech continues to be freed. What strikes me each time is the number of people who visibly seem to have testified at the start, and who were afraid (…) There is a commission of inquiry currently taking place at the National Assembly, the technicians are terrified at the idea of testifying. There is fear that dominates.“
Judith Godrèche accused of defamation
She thinks this feeling is particularly linked to being afraid of “retaliation”. “The fear, in my case, of being sued for defamation, the fear of speaking out when it comes to someone well-known, established, who has power…The fear of working no more, quite simply. ..” As a reminder, in order to contextualize his remarks, Judith Godrèche announced on Tuesday that she had received a preliminary notice of indictment for defamation, a procedurally automatic measurement, after the complaint from filmmaker Jacques Doillon regarding an Instagram post from the actress dating from February 21 in which she accused him of having slept with children.
She refers in particular to what would have been inflicted on her. He allegedly “put his fingers in her pants” during tests for a film released in 1989, when she was only 15 years old. Facts which are, however, prescribed. “I let justice do its job.“, she simply explained on this subject, on the set of Daily always.
Judith Godrèche, Gérard Darmon, Benoît Jacquot and Jacques Doillon are presumed innocent until these files are definitively closed.
