The 11th edition of Visa For attracts more than 12,000 spectators

The 11th edition of the Visa For festival, organized from November 20 to 23 in Rabat, attracted more than 12,000 spectators, the organizers said on Thursday.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this edition highlighted diversity and creativity, in a vibrant atmosphere, underlined the same source in a press release, noting that the public was dazzled by captivating performances at the Mohammed V National Theater, La Renaissance Cinema, Bahnini Hall and Chellah.

This unmissable cultural event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the Council of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, was characterized by the organization of 10 conferences and panels, having enriched intellectual exchanges around global musical issues, we continued.

Visa For Music 2024 brought together prestigious delegations, notably from Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Liberia, Senegal, Ivory Coast and other African countries, but also networks such as Accès Culture, Arterial Network or Arts Connect Africa, and institutions such as SODEC, Live Nation, or the National Council of South Africa, as well as the directors and programmers of more than 100 major festivals in the world, we recalled.

This edition was also marked by a push towards increased cultural diversity, bringing together artists from multiple backgrounds: from Africa, the Pacific, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, celebrating musical richness without borders, driven by values ​​of sharing, tolerance and creativity.

Quoted in the press release, Brahim El Mazned, director and founder of the Festival, noted that this event is “a human, artistic and professional meeting” which illustrates the capacity of culture to bring people together, adding that through its diversity and its impact , this 11th edition demonstrates the organizers’ commitment to making Rabat “a global cultural crossroads, while offering incomparable visibility to talents from Africa and the Middle East to the rest of the world”.

Founded in 2014 on the initiative of the ANYA cultural agency, Visa For Music is a real crossroads for players in the music scene, offering a program adapted to music lovers as well as the curious in search of discoveries with meetings, showcases, conferences and workshops distributed in different emblematic places in the city of Rabat, all located close to each other.
