The 5e detective series season Alertswhich is currently filming on the South Shore of Montreal, will revolve around two new major investigations, one of which will take place in the world of politics.
“It’s our House of Cards to us! says the producer with a smileAlertsCharles Lafortune, met Tuesday on the filming set of the series, in Boucherville.
In this new plot which will launch the 5e season of the annual series, this winter, Catherine Renaud plays the young co-leader of a party called Demain Québec which disappears overnight without a trace.
The investigation will be taken care of by the members of the Cerbère squad (Mylène St-Sauveur, Frédéric Pierre and Danny Gilmore), who will have to work confidentially to avoid spreading the matter.
“It’s very topical because when this politician disappears, we will realize that she received a lot of hateful messages,” underlines Catherine Renaud between the filming of two scenes.
“He’s a super well-written character, who has many layers. Over the course of the episodes, we will discover her flaws and how she juggled between her personal life and her life as a politician.

“Like a Russian doll”
The filming of the 5e season ofAlerts began on September 6 and continues until December 17. The new episodes, which will be broadcast on TVA starting in January, will also feature an investigation into the suspicious death of a homeless man found lifeless in the residence of the rich wife of an influential banker.
“It’s a season that was built like a Russian doll in that each plot leads us to a new plot,” observes Charles Lafortune. But the politician’s intrigue will unfold over several episodes because we feel that it will really excite viewers.”

Several other new characters will come to fuel the next intrigues ofAlerts. Alexis Martin will, for example, slip into the shoes of an itinerant protester.
“I often say that we, the members of the squad, are part of the furniture of the series and that the guest actors who arrive at each plot, they are the ones who make the showunderlines Frédéric Pierre, who reprises his role of investigative sergeant Renaud Magloire.
“It’s to them that the tragedies happen. And we are lucky because we have had great people every season: Rémy Girard [il y a deux ans] and there, Alexis Martin. We are truly pampered.”
