The new director does not hide her emotion when presenting “the first theatrical season that I had the privilege of designing for the Jéliote space, a place recognized for its support of puppetry arts, as well as for the quality and the requirement of the contemporary creative works that it shares, all disciplines combined.”

Towards the paths of discovery

Claire Duchez will invite spectators at the Espace Jéliote to “walk together along the paths of artistic discovery” over the coming months. “Beautiful and large forms of all aesthetics, both accessible and fascinating, will mark this journey. The fantastic, the epic and the spectacular will compete with poetry, gentleness and laughter.”

A little later, we will travel to Saint-Goin, for a eulogy to slowness offered at the Château de Mesplès, on May 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be possible to picnic on the grass with the family, stretch during a yoga workshop, or even go in search of lost times with the puppet artist Juan Perez Escala during this special farniente event.

The entire program can be found on the website www.jeliote.hautbearn.fr.

Fun workshop for children

The team at Espace Jéliote also wanted to “take care of the welcome and living together”, with the creation of a new system in the form of a fun workshop that will allow parents to entrust their children to the association Drôlleries et Cies during certain performances reserved for adults. You will be able to enjoy these activities during the shows “Dracula”, “L’Oiseau de Prometheus” and “Phèdre”.

It is also planned to regularly open the bar space to cultural associations during certain show evenings, such as Jazz à Oloron, the Théâtre La Baraque, Drôlleries et Cies, Made in Béarn, or the La Haüt Social Center.

This will be an opportunity to extend the theatrical experience over a drink, and a perfect opportunity to meet the artists shortly after the performance.
