The restaurant “Les Aromates” reopened its doors on May 3 to the great delight of its loyal customers, including some businesses at lunchtime. With a generous smile, Christelle and Ibrahima welcome you among the tourists and locals. “With Mom at the EHPAD, it’s very practical, we can go there on foot pushing the wheelchair”, rejoices Catherine. Enthusiastic, Christelle begins her 5th season with, at her side, Ibrahima Dia, the new chef. The taste for cooking is a beautiful family heritage for this young man from a family of 8 brothers and sisters all working in the restaurant business.

Ibrahima began his professional life with the La Fourchette group in Dakar. In 2018, during a competition organized by the French Embassy in Senegal, he won in the main course category. An experience in Burgundy before returning to Africa (Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon) as a consulting chef and then 3 years in Savoie. “I like challenges,” he says. “I was second in the 2020 Bocuse d’Or national competition. I am passionate and fascinated by gastronomy. Good cooking takes the customer on a journey. Cooking is an art, a symphony of products, emotions, it is the heart that speaks…” In this adventurous profession, during which he trains apprentices, beyond being an excellent cook, Ibrahima is a philosopher. “I keep the humility to always learn and find the balance between what I love and what I know how to do. It is passion that leads me to perseverance…”

After having delighted locals and tourists during the summer, Ibrahima plans to hold theme evenings in the winter, because for him, “in the kitchen, it’s the best time of the day!” The restaurant “Les Aromates” is open from Tuesday to Sunday (lunch) and Friday and Saturday evenings. From July 17 to August 30, it will be open in the evening from Wednesday to Saturday. The menus (19 euros for lunch and 36 euros for dinner) are made with fresh produce. It is advisable to book.
