This weekend, several disruptions to public transport and pedestrianized areas in Paris may impact your travel. Between railway works, areas closed to vehicles and possible gatherings, discover the essential information for this weekend of November 30 and December 1, 2024.
A new work weekend on the RATP and SNCF networks in Île-de-France is planned from Saturday 30 and Sunday 1 December 2024 to move forward on the Greater Paris projects, the extensions of future metro lines or quite simply to keep the network in good condition. There is expected to be a lot of work going on this first weekend in December.
Ce week-endare concerned 2 RER4 lines of Transilienand tramway and a metro. To find new routes if you need to travel, the Transilien SNCF website offers alternativeswith buses regularly set up to serve the stations.
Here is the work planned for this weekend of November 30 and December 1, 2024
- RER C : Traffic is suspended between Pont-de-Rungis and Massy-Palaiseau, as well as between Juvisy and Versailles Chantiers all weekend. From 11 p.m., no trains run between Paris-Austerlitz and Dourdan, nor between Paris-Austerlitz and Saint-Martin d'Étampes. A substitute bus service is available.
- RER E : Between Tournan and Villiers-sur-Marne, the line is interrupted all day Saturday and Sunday until 3:05 p.m. No trains will run between Tournan and Villiers after 10:56 p.m. on Sunday. Replacement buses operate between Tournan and Paris-Est.
- Line H : Trains are replaced by buses between Saint-Denis Stade-de-France and Ermont-Sarcelles. This weekend, traffic is also stopped between Paris-Nord and Sarcelles-Saint-Brice.
- Line J : No connection between Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Mantes-la-Jolie on Saturday, nor after 7:10 p.m. on Sunday. A bus service is planned.
- K Line : Trains do not run between Mitry-Claye and Paris-Nord all weekend; use it RER B as an alternative.
- Line P : Until Sunday 5:30 p.m., no train between Paris-Est and Coulommiers. Substitution buses connect Nogent-Le Perreux to Coulommiers.
- Tramway T4 : The line is closed from 9 p.m. Saturday until Sunday inclusive. Buses provide the journeys.
- Metro line 4 : The line is closed on Sunday until 10 a.m. for work related to automation. Bus alternatives (56, 38, 96, 58 and 68) are available.
In Paris: pedestrian streets and gatherings
- Paris Breathe : This Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., several neighborhoods become pedestrianized, including the Sentier, the Marais, Paris Center, Mouffetard, and the Champs-Élysées. Please note, certain areas such as Aligre (12th) will only be accessible in the morning. These closures extend to the Bois de Vincennes, the Bassin de la Villette, and Montmartre.
- Yellow Vest Rallies : Due to possible demonstrations, metro stations could be closed by prefectural decision.
Practical advice
Before leaving, check the status of transport on the dedicated applications or with the RATP and the SNCF. If you are driving, consider alternative routes to bypass pedestrian areas. This weekend is the ideal opportunity to explore the city differently, on foot or by bike.
