Seine-et-Marne: the new youth comic book l’Ara de Rosa puts the spotlight on a well-known wild horse…

A new adventure of Rosa Bonheur’s Macaw... The Sabot Rouge editions, in Bourron-Marlotte (Seine et Marne), have launched a crowdfunding campaign for the new youth comics from the Serie L’Ara de Rosa. After The lionss (2019), dogs (2020) et the microbes (2022), it is the wild horse which is this time at the center of the investigation, led by Rosa Bonheur’s bird.

This book, written and illustrated by Pierre-Yves Cezard, is intended for children aged 6 and over. “At the end of the 19th century^e century, Rosa Bonheur had rescued three wild horses in Thomery, recalls Nicolas Quénu, the editor. It is from this historical anecdote that the plot of this new part was created.

The reader will follow the investigation of the bird around a historical fact and an animal, Apache, one of the horses that Rosa Bonheur will offer to Buffalo Bill, when he comes to Thomery in 1889. Rosa’s Macaw has the mission of finding this horse which escaped from its stable and will look for its trace in the forest of Fontainebleau.

Participatory kitty

The author and illustrator Pierre-Yves Cezard, based in Thomery, draws his inspiration from History and his fascination with the work of the animalist painter. Les éditions du Sabot Rouge have launched a crowdfunding campaign, open until July 7, to help finance the book, which will be printed by Helioservice, in Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne.

A minimum pre-sale of €3,500 is required, but donations are possible from €3 or even pre-ordering the book for €15. Beyond this date, pre-orders will still be possible, directly from the Sabot Rouge editions until August 15. The comic book is scheduled for release on August 20.
