After the first three names announced on November 5, the Pause Guitare festival in Albi (Tarn) moved up a gear on Monday November 25, 2024 by announcing seven new artists for its 2025 edition!
And not just any… After Archive, Gossip, Deluxe, IAM, Simple Minds, Calogero, Pomme, Louise Attaque and Alice Cooper in 2024, the new vintage of the largest music festival in the department will welcome from 1is to July 5…
Franz Ferdinand at the foot of the largest brick cathedral in the world
Franz Ferdinand! The legendary Scottish group which made the crowds dance with their global hit Take me Out, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his first album, which was overflowing with other hits (The Dark of the Matinée, Darts of pleasure…).
It will be July 2 and for the first time in 14 years it will happen at the foot of the cathedral! Because yes, for those who have not followed, the return to the foot of Sainte-Cécile Cathedral is recorded for three new evenings, from 1is to July 3, before returning to the Pratgraussals leisure center from July 3 to 5.
On the same day as Franz Ferdinand and on the same stage, in this UNESCO-listed place (at the foot of the cathedral), there will be The Womanwho will immediately take off for an American tour and Etienne Fletcher.
Philippe Katerine is back
But from the day before, the 1is July, there will have been Fire Chatterton!, Philippe Katerine et Lie down.
Fire Chatterton! had already ignited the Albigensian public in 2021.
As for Philippe Katerine, he had already come… the same year. But that was before his Olympic success in front of hundreds of millions of viewers.
Finally, seventh name announced this Monday July 25, the artist Santaknown as the singer of the English-speaking rock band Hyphen Hyphen. She will play on July 3, but on the main stage of Pratgraussals.
Also Sting, Julien Doré and Ben Mazué
The first names of the 29e edition had been revealed on Tuesday November 5, 2024. And it’s heavy. With in particular an international megastar: Sting !
The English singer crowned with 17 Grammy awards will only perform at two festivals in France next summer, including that of Albi, Friday July 4. Julien Doré and Ben Mzué will also be on the bill, but the day before, Thursday July 3, still on the main stage of Pratgraussals.
Other names to come
The festival has now announced about half of its lineup. Other names will be added to this already great list before Christmas, the organization promises. In particular, the entire evening of July 3 at the foot of the cathedral remains to be revealed. But also the artists of an enigmatic “rock evening” at Pratgraussals on July 5or even all the other names that will accompany Sting on July 4…
