It was almost 27 years ago… On August 31, 1997, at just 36 years old, Lady Diana lost her life in a terrible road accident in Paris. On Monday, July 1, 2024, when she would have been 63, Sarah Ferguson, who was very close to her, had an emotional thought for her. On Instagram, she shared a photo where the two young women are on the balcony of Buckingham Palace on the occasion of Trooping the Colour.

“Happy birthday to my dear friend Diana. You were a pillar of light and love. And what a legacy you leave behind. I will always remember our laughter and the kind spirit I found in you. I am sure you are always watching over us. Rest in peace my friend.”she wrote with emotion.

She had this enormous capacity to feel empathy. and I think she would have been so proud of her sons but also of Meghan and Kate (…) She would have been very proud. She kept telling me how happy she was that her boys were growing up so well. They are the fruit of her education”.
