A new presidency for NIFF 2024

A few days before the opening of its 23rd edition (July 5 to 13, 2024), the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) announces the upcoming transfer of the torch of its presidency. The change of presidency of the NIFFF will take place during the opening ceremony of the 23rd edition of the festival, on Friday, July 5, 2024, but it will not be official until the end of the edition.

Baptiste Hurni replaces Natahlie Randin
The NIFFF will be chaired by the lawyer and State Councilor Baptiste Hurni from the end of the edition. A child of Neuchâtel, he completed his schooling and studies there before obtaining a Master’s degree in Advanced Studies at the prestigious King’s College in London. He then obtained his lawyer’s license and joined the JSM & Partners firm as an associate. But Baptiste Hurni is best known for his political career: General and municipal councilor from the age of 18, he was a member of the Grand Council for 12 years and held important functions within the Neuchâtel Socialist Party. Since 2019, he has been elected to the Federal Assembly, first as a National Councilor then, from 2023, as a State Councilor.

The latter will continue the work carried out by Nathalie Randin to institutionalize and professionalize the structure of the festival, in a stabilization phase in the face of increasing attendance. The organizers also emphasize that it is under the governance of Nathalie Randin, and with the investment of the entire festival team, that the difficult period of COVID-19 was successfully overcome.
