The magazine Entertainment Weekly presents the first trailer for “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” the new film starring the superhero demon.
“Hellboy and a rookie BPRD agent are stranded in rural Appalachia in the 1950s and discover a small community haunted by witches, led by the Crooked Man.”
Despite fairly average image quality (you will have to wait for a Youtube version), This new incursion of “Hellboy” does not reassure much. Indeed, the impression of seeing a fan film is quickly felt, but we must not get carried away.
The good news; The horror aspect of Mike Mignola’s work seems much more present than in previous adaptations. by Guillermo del Toro and Neil Marshall.
Moreover, This film will be a sort of prequel because it takes place in the 50s. The story is based on “The Crooked Man”, a comic book mini-series by Mike Mignola, the creator of “Hellboy”.
According to the IMDB website, The feature film will be released on September 19 in the USA.. In Switzerland, the film has not yet been announced at this time.
Parapsychologist Bobbie Jo Song is tasked with delivering a spider to the BPRD, but she must enlist Hellboy’s help when things go awry. Together, they travel to Appalachia to confront the Crooked Man, who has been sent back to Earth to collect souls for the devil.
Brian Taylor is directing the feature film.
