Intertwining traditional dance and new technologies with such finesse and power is one of the show’s feats. Tiaen tiamen – Episode 1from the Taiwanese dance company Bulareyaung.

Founded in 2015 by Aboriginal choreographer Bulareyaung Pagarlava, from the Paiwan tribe, who live in the south-east of the island, this troupe highlights the gestural and vocal heritage of four Aboriginal communities through seven high-flying male performers.

For the 4e edition, the Excentriques festival, run by La Briqueterie in Vitry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne), offers a choreographic aperitif stroll under the sign of the unusual and freedom. Among the eleven companies invited, young artists such as Simon Le Borgne, here in a duo with drummer Ulysse Zangs or Greek choreographer Chara Kotsali, who works on the theme of possession, are in the spotlight.

They are cousins with more well-known names, such as Gaëlle Bourges, who stages amateurs and their memories of dance, Dominique Brun, who resurrects the extravagant Caryathis (1888-1971), or the research heads Geisha Fontaine and Pierre Cottreau. The styles collide for the best of spectacular cohabitations with contemporary, dance theater or waacking. R. This
