Can we recall how the Légend’air festival was born?
Gaël Duro, organizer: “In 2015, I was a member of an association which brought the Soldat Louis group to Rostrenen. However, as I lived in Lesneven, I was asked why I didn’t organize the concert in my town. That year, the group played in Rostrenen but also in Lesneven and that’s how the Légend’air festival was born. Then, in 2019, I created a company, Music’air productions, which organizes four festivals per year including that of Lesneven, where it can rely on the Légend’air association which has between 80 and 100 volunteers.
The format of the meeting has remained unchanged since the beginning?
“This festival offers a single evening of concerts at the Kerjézéquel hall in Lesneven. Initially, we had a capacity of 2,000 places. But last year, with Fatal Bazooka and Cali on show, we sold all the tickets so quickly that we decided to remove the movable partition that separates the two Kerjézéquel theaters to reach a capacity of 2 700 spectators.
You have just announced the first three names for this 2024 edition…
“The 2024 edition will take place on Saturday November 9 from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. We will first have Sniper who are a flagship group of the French rap scene of the 2000s and whose song we know in particular “Gravé dans la roche”. With Elmer Food Beat, we will undoubtedly reach fifty-year-olds more since the group had its main successes in the 90s: “Daniela”, “Le plastic, c’estfantastique”, “La cashiere de chez Leclerc”… In 2023, he released his eighth album. Finally, Pierre-Hugues José is my favorite artist. He’s a rapper that I love, a little offbeat, somewhere between Orelsan and Philippe Katerine. Coming from a working-class background, he comes from Vesoul and claims his origins. He’s someone with an atypical profile who offers hyperintelligent rap. At the same time, there are not that many artists who come forward with a Bac + 7 in neuroscience. That’s it for the first three names. Two or three other artists will soon complete the poster.”
Where and how to get tickets?
“Starting this Friday, June 28, on our site, 200 tickets will be put on sale at the preferential rate of €29. Once these are sold out, we will move to the normal rate: €36, €20 for 10-15 year olds and free for under 10s. But, even for the latter, you have to reserve a place. Tickets will also be put on sale at the Bistro de Lesne. For the other ticket offices, we will wait until we have the entire program.”
