At the beginning of November, Kenny Omega made a return to the microphone during the NJPW Power Struggle show. He opened the door for a possible return to action for the ”NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty” PPV, but found himself in a fight with Gabe Kidd before he could confirm anything.
This week, NJPW released an exclusive interview with Kenny Omega in which Omega states that he will be able to wrestle at the Wrestle Dynasty 2025 PPV. Kenny Omega states that he is willing to take the risk to return to the ring despite his recovery from his operation if NJPW and Gabe Kidd wish:
”I had time to think after Power Struggle, and I think I would regret not being able to correct the events. So after the conversations I had with President Tanahashi and other NJPW executives, I decided that if New Japan asks for it, if Gabe asks for it, and if the fans want it, then I will wrestle Gabe Kidd like a professional at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.”
The NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty 2025 PPV will take place on January 5. An evening where the talents of NJPW, AEW, Stardom, CMLL and ROH will come together in Japan for this PPV.
We will have to monitor the next announcements to see if the match will really be confirmed or not. This clash could mark Kenny Omega’s first match since December 2023 when he was diagnosed with diverticulitis which led to surgery.
