2024 is the opportunity for dance company Les Sables-d’Olonne In beer to celebrate a generation of creations and pleasures shared around dance…
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 Novemberthe dancers of the company will present a retrospective looking back on the 20 years of creation and as many choreographies, re-explored since the summer of 2023.
Céline Suaudeau, the founder of the company and artistic director, describes its creation: “At the time, a group of students from the Amicale laïque des Sables, where I taught, wanted to dance more. I then created choreographic workshops. Little by little, dancers from other associations joined us. And, two years later, in 2004, I created the company M’Bira. »
If three or four dancers have been there since the beginning, the company has evolved according to the dancers who arrived, those who left, according to each person’s life path…
They are currently a dozen to which are added the ten dancers from the junior workshop.
Reunion and retrospective
The weekend of November 23 and 24 is intended a big birthday party bringing together a large part of the dancers who have worked with the Sablais company.
The opportunity for everyone to come together around this eternal pleasure of sharing dance experiences, both in rehearsals and on stage.
Reunions or new encountersbecause some had never had the opportunity to work together…
But it was a great pleasure for everyone to collaborate on this project, and particularly for Céline Suaudeau.
“Dance your weekend”
This retrospective will be presented during the traditional “Dance your weekend”weekend around dance organized every year by the M’Bira company, and during which you can also attend the performances by other dance companies and groups in the region invited to share the stage with the M’Birettes, but also take part in a dance workshop.
On stage, 24 dancers from the companyof the 36 who passed through its ranks, agreed to join the project, accompanied by the 10 dancers from the junior company, to whom certain pieces were transmitted.
For Céline, M’Bira is above all a human adventureand if not all the dancers contacted will be able to be present, they all responded to the invitation of the 20-year-old with a symbolic thought or presence. Some will still come back from far away (Besançon, Tours, Paris, etc.), to answer the call of the stage…
