Two young musicians in agreement at Lavaux Classic

After the piano star Arcadi Volodos who opened the Lake Geneva festival last Thursday, Lavaux Classic is shining its spotlight on younger musicians until Sunday. Nice pianist Théo Fouchenneret is familiar to French-speaking audiences for having won a joint First Prize at the Geneva Competition in November 2018. He combined his talent with that of cellist Victor Julien-Laferrière, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition of Belgium in 2017, Wednesday evening at the Octagon in Pully.

It is reassuring to see that these two musicians are not just virtuosos with technique that will amaze you. They are authentic musicians, who take the time to listen to each other. No gimmicks or gimmicks. This lack of self-presentation is almost surprising at a time when it is so tempting to stand out!
