Stanislas Lipinski does not hide it, Moulin d’Andé is in poor condition.
At 800 years old, the miller’s house – the oldest building on the site – is in serious need of renovation work.
Last year, Stanislas Lipinski, who has chaired the Moulin d’Andé association since the death of his grandmother, Suzanne Lipinska, founder of the site, launched a sponsorship to raise funds with a view to undertaking renovation work. restoration of the miller’s houseamong others. “In 2003, the mill wheel was able to be restored thanks to sponsorship and assistance from the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs. We would like the financing of the renovation of the miller’s house to be done on the same principle, by reaching individuals,” explains Stanislas Lipinski.
A year after its launch, sponsorship has attracted too few donors to reach the million euros necessary for the renovation of the building.
A new impetus
Listed as a Historic Monument since 1986, the Moulin d’Andé has attracted the attention of the Heritage Foundation whose role is to provide financial support through various actions.
Friday November 22an agreement will be signed between the Moulin d’Andé and the Heritage Foundation: “This partnership will bring new impetus to the Moulin,” rejoices Stanislas Lipinski.
Thanks to this partnership, the Moulin d’Andé will be listed on the Heritage Foundation catalog which will make the site more visible and highlight its needs to preserve it.
Regular donors
If renovation work must be carried out in the miller’s house which includes the room in which certain scenes from the film were filmed François Truffaut, Jules and Jim (1962), other buildings will also be included in the catalog of the Heritage Foundation such as the kiosk on the banks of the Seine, the Poterie (house on the banks of the river) and the theater in which concerts and shows are programmed. “The Heritage Foundation has regular donors. Being included in its catalog will open the doors to the general public,” hopes Stanislas Lipinski, who recalls that “the Mill is a heritage that transcends time, a sanctuary for the artistic soul and a treasure for culture.”
The Moulin d’Andé endowment fund – Suzanne Lipinskacreated in 2010 to guarantee the continuity of the cultural action of the place, also allows us to receive donations from companies and individuals wishing to support and preserve local and cinematographic heritage.
Sell the manuscript of La Disparition
Other levers are put in place to save the Moulin d’Andé: “The Moulin endowment fund owns the manuscript of Georges Perec, The Disappearance. We are considering selling it so that the amount collected will allow renovation work,” confides Stanislas Lipinski, whose only wish is “that this manuscript lives and is used.”
In order to raise awareness among a wide audience about the future of the site, Stanislas Lipinski will broadcast in the coming weeks a promotional film on the sponsorship of Moulin d’Andé: “With my sisters and my cousin, we made this film which will be broadcast on our website and on social networks”. In a few minutes, the history of the Moulin since 1956, its hosts and guests like Maurice Pons, Georges Perec, François Truffaut, his life scenes and of course its founder, Suzanne Lipinska (who became owner of the Moulin in 1956 before creating the cultural association in 1962), are told by the actor Denis Lavant.
