The national release of the film Moana 2 is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27. Only one week left before (re)discovering the adventures of the pretty Polynesian princess.
Last June, the world premiere presentation in Annecy of the first images of Vaiana 2 (“Moana” in its original version) attracted a crowd of festival-goers. “I couldn’t wait to see that.”confided at the time Elise Bourgeois, a young 26-year-old professional who came to discover the new features of the film dedicated to the adventures of the exploring princess.
“I am a Disney fan and I have found for several years that the quality of the story is a little disappointing but, each time, I continue, because Disney is my childhood and that’s what made me made me want to do animation”she said.
David Derrick, one of the directors, had promised “a family movie”a “story with a universal echo”in connection with “what connects us to the beauty of nature”like the first part of Vaiana, filmed after studying in the Pacific Islands.
“There’s a lot of pressure, of course it would be irresponsible not to feel stress, honestly, because it’s a huge object, with a lot of people working on it,” recognized Jason Hand, his co-director, a few months before its release. “To make the best possible film with the best team, that’s our job”he said in an interview with AFP. “Bob Iger, the head of the company, loves this film and really wants it to be successful” et “we give our best”.
More than 500 people worked on it, announcements were made to complete the team and finish on time. And “we don’t talk about budget”wanted to clarify the production.
The success of a film? “History is a key factor, I know how hard we work to achieve the most success possible”deciphered Mark Henn, 43 years of career at Disney -The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Pocahontas or the Lion King-, who came to present his latest short film dedicated to Donald Duck in Annecy in June. “But otherwise, I don’t have an answer… if we knew, we would know what to avoid.”
