Twelve candidates, including new ones (registrations were open from the age of 50), tried their luck during the Brest final of the Tréteaux chantants, Tuesday November 19, 2024. An event supported by the City of Brest and the team of Sanquer Secular Patronage.
Welcomed on stage by Yvon Étienne and Fortuné Pellicano, assistant in charge of animation, accompanied on keyboard by Patrick Perron, each candidate performed a song where very often, mastery of rhythm and accuracy required a certain amount of experience.
After the candidates had passed and while awaiting the results, the public welcomed the Saint-Politain Gérard Jaffrès, fifty years of career and more than 640 songs, including the famous Kenavoas well as thirteen albums to his credit. The singer-songwriter, particularly applauded, offered with his musicians a concert mixing Celtic rock, traditional Breton music and French song. And then came the long-awaited moment of results.
Newcomers selected for the final
Arnaud Ferrec, who performed Louiseby Gérard Berliner, has arrived 1is. Brand new to this competition, Arnaud, who was a singer in a group, rehearsed several hours a day for this selection. At the 2e place, Marine Dautier, with Disappointby Lynda Lemay, is also selected for the final on November 26. The visual artist, who experiences singing as breathing, discovered the Singing Trestles through a press article. A regular on the circuit, Christiane Créachcadec, who performed Lonelinessfrom Barbara, got 3e place.
Headlined by Sheila, star of French song, the grand final will take place Tuesday, November 26, at 2 p.m., at the Arena. Tickets will be collected for Brest residents (two maximum per person) at the town hall or local town hall. You must be from Brest and provide proof of address and an identity document.
