She never compromised on taste. This is the secret of his success, and of his recipes adapted to the restrictions of his entire table.

K for Katrine, who we have known since 2016 with her gluten-free and dairy-free offerings, is back in force with this particularly delicious new book, this time signed with her daughter, Margaux. Richly illustrated, the book offers a wide range of recipes. Bonus: a section is reserved for weekday dinners, for renewed menus with a little different je ne sais quoi.
Our testers unanimously enjoyed it, cheating here and there, replacing the vegetable cream with country cream, or the gluten-free gnocchi with the traditional product, for example. Speaking of gnocchi, his baked offering is delicious as can be, just like his tuna grilled cheese (tuna-melt which still makes one salivate). It’s not complicated, we wanted to try everything.
It’s so appetizing! And the smells that the recipes give off!

It’s simple, without being simplistic. We have the satisfaction of making a slightly complex recipe, with a slightly complex taste!

The +
- We rediscover classics with a unique touch.
- Meals for all occasions
- Tasty results, spicy dishes without it being (too) complicated
THE –
- Some recipes require a lot of spices that you don’t necessarily have in the pantry.
- Suggestions for alternative options (swapping tamari sauce for soy, etc.) end up making the text a bit cumbersome.
Our verdict
K for Katrine has visibly broadened its audience and we would be crazy to deprive ourselves: easy to make, with just enough sophisticated seasonings, the recipes have a great taste to keep coming back for more. To try it is to adopt it! Note that several recipes suggested in the book (but not all) are also vegetarian, vegan, egg-free, nut-free and peanut-free.
