Victor Norek, videographer with his YouTube channel “Le Cinématrographeur”, will present the film “En attendant la nuit”, Thursday evening, at the Decazeville cinema.

Passionate about cinema, Victor Norek has always loved sharing his passion. Whether as part of the film club he led when he was a student; or with his YouTube channel “Le Cinématographeur” which has more than 26,000 subscribers and attracts tens of thousands of views. He dissects and analyzes numerous films, both on technical and aesthetic levels as well as on their narrative and psychological understanding.

Victor Norek also shares his passion for cinema via writing while collaborating on “Rockyrama” magazine; but also with his reference book “The work of Steven Spielberg, the art of the blockbuster”, the first volume of which was released last November.

The book, of which nearly 2,000 works have already been sold, has been praised by critics, whether on Europe1 or in the famous show “Le Masque et la Plume” on France Inter. “The reception was very, very good “, smiles Victor Norek who is currently finalizing the second volume: “I have finished writing, we are in the correction and proofreading phases.” Publication should be done in early 2025.

Victor Norek will be present on Thursday June 27, at 8:45 p.m., at the La Strada cinema in Decazeville, as part of a film meeting session.

Residing in Paris and then Montreal in Canada, Victor Norek is attached to the Basin since his parents Martine and Claude are from Aubin and he is the brother of the famous writer Olivier Norek. Installed in Paris then in Montreal, Canada, Victor regularly returns to the Decazeville Basin. Thursday, Victor Norek will present “En attendant la nuit”, a Franco-Belgian film by Céline Rouzet. The story: Philémon is a teenager like no other because to survive he needs human blood. In the slightly too quiet suburban suburb where he settles with his family, he does everything to blend into the surroundings. Until the day he falls in love with his neighbor Camila and draws attention to them.

This evening is organized in partnership with the ADRC (National Agency for the Development of Cinema in the Regions).

“We have been working together for several years. At the beginning, it was about helping us obtain copies of films. The ADRC also helps us with films for film club evenings with Rémi Romain. And also presentations of films”indicates Arnaud Segond, manager of the La Strada cinema in Decazeville.

Victor Norek has joined the CCRA panel of speakers.

“The association contacted me because they liked my work in cinematography. They asked me if I was available to do interventions everywhere. They asked me my schedule for my visit to France and I indicated Aveyron. They gave me three films to see, I took the one I preferred of the three. It will be the very first time that I will present a film with the ADRC. traveling Les Mycéliades, everywhere in France, I will do a week of roaming with them across France, on a list of films that they offer”.

Happy to be back at the Bassin, Victor Norek will speak a little before the screening and then discuss with the public, notably around the friendly drink organized by La Strada: “I will give some elements and then we will see how people received it”.

Victor Norek will again present “En attendant la nuit”, the next day, Friday June 28 at 8:30 p.m., but this time at the L’Astrolabe cinema in Figeac.
