A tribute to missing loved ones

It is an astonishing, and to say the least original, request that Indochine made on its Instagram account this Tuesday, November 12. In fact, the group shared a post with a long text in which Nicola Sirkis and her gang ask their fans for a little service. In the text, we understand that Indochina, which will soon be back on stage with its Arena Tour, needs photos to illustrate their song Annabelle Lee when they interpret it. But these photos are far from trivial: in fact, Indochine asks for photos of missing peopleto whom their fans would like to pay tribute.

“You have lost someone close to you (parent, friend, etc.), you would like to pay tribute to them. We would also like to spare a thought for them during the tour. For this, if you wish to participate, please send us the photo of the person to whom you wish to pay tribute (…) We will group the photos received into a slideshow and broadcast them during this song. – Indochina

An approach full of emotions, which risks touching the hearts of the group’s many fans. So if you want to pay tribute to one of your loved ones, you have until the beginning of December to send your photo.

A song about mourning

If the group chose to illustrate this song in the same way, it is because the title “Annabelle Lee” is a reflection on mourning and pain management in the face of a death. If the title of the song recalls theone of the last poems of the poet Edgar Allan Poe which explores this theme, Nicola Sirkis wanted to remember that life is not eternal and pay homage to this poemas he explained in an interview to our colleagues from Ouest .

“I used it for private stories, because we all, at our ages, are confronted with the disappearance of our parents, and people around us start to get really sick. We realize that this life is not eternal, while we were for a long time, with rock, in a kind of bath, like eternal adolescents. This inspired me this song. – Nicola Sirkis
