The association “If we danced?” held its general meeting in the rural foyer room on Thursday June 13. President Patrick Alzaga, assisted by secretary Virginie Marini and treasurer Françoise Chapelle, presented the results of the last season. The association has fifty members and the membership fee is maintained at €30. The teacher (always the same for many years) Erik Hougen gave 34 lessons on Thursday evenings, from September 7 to May 30. The rhythm of changing dances is satisfactory: twice 30 minutes for beginners, three times 20 minutes for the second and third levels. The weekly “revision” sessions on Tuesday evening (without a teacher), always at the rural home, end once a term with a Spanish inn-style meal. On the other hand, the traditional New Year’s Eve could not take place this year.

Everyone agreed that the celebration of the 30th anniversary in the village hall was a success (nearly 120 people), even if the president expressed a little regret: despite the numerous contacts, some former dancers did not are not manifested.

As part of the elections to the board of directors, the renewable leavers were reappointed to their positions: Françoise and Serge Chapelle, Guy Suarez. The association will be present on Saturday September 7 at the association forum and classes will resume on Thursday September 12. The treasurer drew up a financial report showing a very slight deficit (verified by Jean-Pierre Balmary). A call is launched to recruit new members which will help cover the cost of the courses. Before the friendly meal and the dancing session, a little controversy broke out between those who want more rock (for young people) and those who prefer ballroom dancing.
