Unveiled this morning from the Haute École Arc in Neuchâtel, the program for NIFFF 2024, which will be held from July 5 to 13, promises to be exciting once again, at the crossroads of the world and genres. We decrypt.
The world and its cinema
“Researcher in genre cinema”that is how Pierre-Yves Walder, artistic director of the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, describes the mission of this prestigious cultural event. A meeting point between major contemporary issues and genre cinema, in 2024 there will be a total of 84 feature films and 38 short films, from 5 continents, which will, in their own way, shake up the contemporary world.
Between the carte blanche awarded to the Italian actress Asia Argento And Moon, famous drag personality in Switzerland (having participated in season 2 of Drag Race France), the retrospective “Eat The Rich”, dedicated to the representation of elites in cinema, or even special attention to new voices in cinema feminine and non-binary, the NIFFF 2024 shines as much as it resonates the plurality of the 7th art. The 2024 edition will therefore open on July 5 with the opening presentation of the feature film “Animal” byEmma Benestan to close a few days later with “Longlegs” byOz Perkins. In the meantime, here is the program.
