2,000 festival-goers, 46 films screened… Regards Croissants was in full swing on November 7 and 8, 2024 in Saint-Malo (Brittany), celebrating the theme “jobs and disabilities”. This year again, the promise of the festival was kept: to raise awareness among businesses and, more broadly, the general public about the talents of people with disabilities through short films. Emotions and sharing were part of these two essential days in the Saint-Malo calendar. Here are the winners of this sixteenth edition…
Grand jury prize: Next time… It’s an omelette!
Among the 46 films in competition, 16 were rewarded by the jury, chaired by Carine Tardieu, screenwriter and director, and made up of actors but also para athletes and political figures. Next time… It’s an omelette! wins the “Grand Jury Prize”. Directed by Antoine Mourret, this six-minute film (in video above) immerses the viewer in the daily life of this thirty-year-old, born with dystonia, a rare disease which is characterized by intermittent or prolonged involuntary muscle contractions, in one or several parts of the body, leading to contortions or painful postures. “An able-bodied person takes less than a minute to put on their socks, me five! “, explains the protagonist. Which doesn’t stop him from working and loving it! “My job is very important to me, it allows me to have a healthy routine and an enriching social life”affirms this employee in the Gard departmental archives.
“Ordinary environment” and “protected and adapted environment” categories
In the “ordinary environment” category, Jérôme Delépine, a vision of humanitydirected by David Tillault and Nicolas Desmarchelier, won the jury prize and It’s beautiful ! Fragility, of Vincent Farge, that of the youth jury as well as the “special mention”. The winners in the “protected and adapted environment” category are respectively: Who helps whodirected and produced by ESAT (L’envol) Castelnau le Lez, Psych’ose!, of Esat Les Pins, and One word, one look, one gesture, it can change everything!produced by the Arcaux Center.
Categories “business communication” and “other perspectives”
The “corporate communication” category, for its part, devoted Balbutiodirected and produced by Zigzag, In investmentfrom the T by Talentéo agency, and Marie and Gautierproduced by Séquences Clés Productions. The one called “Other views” highlighted The chance of my life, directed and produced by Mélissa Bronsart, Captiveby Manon Giraudon-Nicolaï and Maxime Carre, and All others, rdirected and produced by Clotilde Cavaroc. Finally, the “Other views Esat and adapted company” category awarded its three prizes to Funny piratesproduced by Studio Moskowa, The Wolf, from moon to moonfrom La Fabrik@images, and I’m not fashionabledirected and produced by ESAT de la Ballastière.
