The 4th edition of the “Olive in the Heart” Festival will be held in Fez from November 14 to 24 at the initiative of the Moroccan Association for Aid to Children in Precarious Situations (AMESIP).

“This festival like no other, where culinary and artistic art meet, is much more than a festive event. This is a professional integration festival for and by young people from the Kan Ya Makan second chance school,” indicates a press release from the organizers.
This new edition will take over different spaces in the world-famous medina of Fez, notes the same source, adding that it will once again highlight the culinary art, with the participation of internationally and nationally renowned chefs, accompanied by young apprentices.
“Show cooking”, one of the highlights of the festival, will allow participants to witness the preparation of unique dishes and enjoy a meal in a friendly atmosphere. Renowned chefs such as Meryem Cherkaoui, Mehdi El Omari and Pascal Pineau will bring their exceptional know-how to enhance the olive in all its forms.
Performing arts are at the heart of the festival’s DNA. Thus, the show “Jha. Is he wise, is he crazy?”, directed by Camélia Montassir, will mix circus and dance to offer a moment of wonder, carried by the young circus apprentices, we continue. In addition, an urban parade will take over the streets of Fez, with stilt walkers and street artists to raise public awareness of the importance of preserving water, a vital resource.
Another highlight, the Epiphany show, directed by Boris Vecchio, will offer a vertical dance on one of the city’s emblematic gates to pay tribute to the thousand-year-old heritage of Fez. Other circus performances will take place in different locations around the city, creating an atmosphere of celebration and surprise.
The farm days, real successes of previous editions, will return this year with new activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the olive oil manufacturing process and participate in practical workshops, particularly around the making of olive oil-based soaps.
The equestrian show “Les Cavaliers de la Lune”, directed by Eric Gauthier, will be another star attraction of these days, where young talents from the AMESIP school of equestrian arts will present aerobatics feats at the foot of the century-old pecan trees.
The Week of Taste and Other Senses will offer workshops in partner schools, where culinary arts apprentices will introduce young people to the benefits of olive oil through unique sensory experiences.
At the same time, the festival will once again host the Kids Course, a landmark sporting event, which will end with a half-marathon, allowing participants to discover the emblematic places of Fez while celebrating World Youth Day. olive.
