For the third time in his career, Gold Tweet (7 years old), will cross the Channel to challenge the best jumpers. It will be at Haydock, Saturday November 23, 2024 in the Betfair Chase (gr.I) contested over 5,000 meters in steeplechase. During his first excursion to England, Gold Tweet had brilliantly won the 2023 Cleeve Hurdle (gr.II) at Cheltenham, before appearing honorably in the Stayers’ Hurdle (gr.II). In the Betfair Chase, the resident of Gabriel Leenders is an outsider at 50/1 but it is obvious that his odds should be much lower. “We are happy to race in England. His preparation is going well” he confided to our collaborator Gilles Pomade. This is not all for the Gabriel Leenders team in Great Britain since the professional from Jarzé (49) will indeed saddle Sweet David (5 years old) in the Glenfarclass Cross-Country Handicap Chase (5,800 meters), on November 15 at Cheltenham. Irreproachable, the son of Clovis of Berlais will be associated with Felix de Giles. Bookmakers are very wary of Sweet Davidgiving his chances 10/1 in an open race where he will be the only tricolor and in which he will only face eight opponents.
