“This year,” specifies Cédric Fauq, chief curator of the CAPC, “we are exploring the body and the voice, we will find them in all the performances. We wonder about the ways in which we can speak, who has the right to speak and be listened to in the public space, and how to implement new methodologies to make ourselves heard. »

The programming aims to bring people together: “Contemporary creation is not just about looking at works, it is also about experiences, manipulations, and performances. We have this ability to be able to bring together, with the spaces we have at CAPC, to become one together. Exactly like the artist Aliaskar Abarkas, who will create a choir of whistlers with the public. Together, our relationship with the world, with others, takes a different form. »

This year, the Mutant Academy is placing a special emphasis on transmission with a series of four workshops (writing, translation, sound mixing and zine making) which will be held every morning, to establish this “academic” side, in reference to “The University of Mutants”, an experimental school founded by Léopold Sédar Senghor on the island of Gorée in 1978.

“Even if for the artists we welcome, queer, feminist and decolonial theories are predominant, we do not necessarily use these words to define them, our goal is not to frighten but to unite. »
