“Lola and the noise piano” by Augusto Zanovello and “A guitar in the sea” by Sophie Roze, both produced by the Geneva house Nadasdy, won the Jury Prize for a TV special on Saturday for the first and the Prize Cristal as well as the Audience Award for second. Both competed in the Official Selection – Television Films.

In the special prize category on Friday, the animated road movie “The Car That Came Back from the Sea”, by Jadwiga Kowalska, won the France TV Prize for a short film as well as the Jury Prize. Six friends travel to the Polish Baltic Sea in a small, run-down car. During the trip, their car and their country both fall apart, but life goes on.

Lasting 11 minutes, the film premiered at the Winterthur International Short Film Festival, screened in Solothurn and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize.

In total, seven Swiss films were selected by the Savoyard festival, an important event in the cinema world. There were two feature films and five short films in the competing sections.

The Annecy Festival also has its international animated film market, the Mifa, one of the most important in the world in the animation sector. Last year, 16,000 people were accredited.

In a press release, the festival welcomed record attendance with, in one week, 17,400 festival-goers from 103 countries.
