“Here it all begins” Summary of the episode of November 11, 2024
Wiesberg in the sights of professors
At the Auguste Armand Institute, Alice wants to have a small group of students work on puff pastry. Mattéo brings T45 flour back to the pastry teacher, because there was no oatmeal flour in the commissary. This doesn’t sit well with Alice. She refuses to work with classic flour. Against all odds, she prefers to cancel the class, rather than cook with an ingredient that does not conform to her recipe. Just afterwards, in the park, Mattéo, Sabri and Gaspard discuss what just happened. Suddenly, Myriel joins them and asks them why Chef Wiesberg’s class is canceled. Sabri reveals the truth to him, and Antoine is surprised by his colleague’s radical decision.
A few minutes later, Antoine asks Alice for explanations. The young chef explains the situation to him. Antoine emphasizes that she could have adapted by offering them another recipe, for example, but Alice declares: “It’s not within my skills to improvise.” Antoine replies:
“You’re being asked to teach, you can’t let students wander around the park alone aimlessly.” Then, the pastry teacher adds: “If you were a chef, you would understand.” Later in the afternoon, Antoine informs Clotilde of the situation. He explains to his colleague that he didn’t appreciate Alice looking down on him. Clotilde is not really surprised by her colleague’s condescending attitude. At the same time, Gaspard arrives and hears the conversation. He doesn’t seem to appreciate the way Antoine and Clotilde talk about chef Wiesberg.
Cheating students at the Institute
Enzo informs the Master’s students that a draw will take place to take over from Jude at the head of the Atelier restaurant. He asks them to put their names in the ballot box. Tom is not reassured, because for him, Jude has set the bar high and he fears not being up to it. Later that morning, Tom and Quentin catch Lionel cheating. Finally, Lionel reveals to his two comrades that he withdrew his name because he does not feel ready to direct L’Atelier. The three students are under pressure, none of them wants to come after Jude. So, they decide to cheat by writing Mehdi’s name several times. Will they be unmasked?
During the draw, it is indeed Mehdi who is chosen. But what the three cheaters did not anticipate was that Enzo was also going to draw lots for Mehdi’s brigade. Very quickly, panic seizes the three students. By drawing lots again, Enzo discovers that Mehdi’s first name is written several times. He first thinks that Hortense’s husband cheated, then he understands that it was Tom, Quentin and Lionel who tampered with the votes. Enzo says: “You don’t want a draw?” Very good, it’s Ms. Latour and I who will decide based on your concepts.”
Teyssier sets a trap for Anaïs
Enzo and Vic are shocked by the decision made by Anaïs: either she manages to surprise great chefs during an organized evening and she keeps her place at Double A, or it is a failure and she gives up her apron. Anaïs joins her two friends and explains to them that she needs to challenge herself: “I’m bad. I’m a chef, I should be able to be proud of my work. But don’t worry, I don’t plan to miss it, that’s not the goal.” Anaïs asks Vic to be her second and the young woman accepts with joy.
Teyssier calls his entire address book to announce the evening organized by Anaïs. Constance tells her husband that this idea risks jeopardizing the young woman’s future. Teyssier justifies himself by saying that because of Anaïs’ lack of motivation, there is no longer anyone at Double A. In addition, he promises his wife:
“Anaïs won’t fail, I won’t let her go. She will give the best of herself.”
At the Institute, Milan meets Sam, his ex-cellmate. The latter asks him to show him around, but Milan replies that he doesn’t have time. Suddenly, Anaïs passes by them and Sam takes the opportunity to make sexist comments about the young woman. Milan defends his ex-girlfriend by responding: “Speak better!” Stay calm! Don’t approach her! ».
For her part, Anaïs briefs Vic on what she expects from her new brigade. At the same time, Emmanuel Teyssier arrives and the young chef presents him with her starter of the day that she created with Vic: the perfect egg. This is a new recipe. The director of the Institute responds: “Haven’t you found anything more original?” ». She justifies her recipe by responding that all the originality will be found in the accompaniment. But Teyssier decides to fire Vic from the brigade. Anaïs replies that she needs trusted people for her brigade, but the director refuses. To justify his choice, he explains to Anais that it is not Vic who will boost her and decides to organize a test: the students must revisit the perfect egg, and the one who comes out with the best dish will become the second, and the others will join the brigade. In addition, Anaïs will have to taste the dishes blind.
During lunch service, Teyssier asks Anaïs to confront the customers. The young woman listens to him and goes to Sam’s table. The latter compliments the chef on the menu:
“The entrance was a little crazy.”
Then, the former inmate gets to the heart of the matter and decides to speak informally to Anaïs. He suggests they go for a drink, but Milan immediately joins the discussion. Anaïs understands that the two men know each other. Milan asks Anaïs if Sam was hitting on him, and tension rises between the two students. The director, who is watching the scene, gets up from his table and once again criticizes Anaïs for her lack of seriousness.
Later, Teyssier asks Enzo what is going on between Anaïs and Milan. During the discussion, he realizes that something is happening between them: “What you’re telling me is because she had an affair with this guy that she’s been doing shit at Double A for weeks? ». Realizing that he had just made a big mistake, Enzo tries to make up for it by saying: “She had a hard time getting into the swing of things, frankly, she’s managing now”. The director of the Institute responds straight away: “It’s nice to want to defend your friend, Lopez, but she can’t handle anything at all”.
During the test, Teyssier puts pressure on the students to make the best perfect egg. Suddenly, chef Grimbert arrives to inform Teyssier that she does not want Milan to take part in the test: “He’s a first year and I don’t work with a first year.” Teyssier responds with a smile: “You’ll tell me so much.”
A few hours later, Teyssier and Anaïs taste the students’ different recipes. The young woman has a crush on one of the plates: “ I’m surprised, intrigued, I feel like I’m rediscovering what an egg is. I want this person as my second. Who cooked it? “.
Teyssier reveals to him that it is… Milan, then adds:
“This little c**t is driving you crazy? Use this! The blind tasting spoke for itself. Milan is your new second.”
