A new wind is blowing on France 2. This Wednesday, November 6, Le Parisien revealed the names of two new news jokers on the public channel: Maya Lauqué
et Sonia Chironi. The two journalists, already well known to France Télévisions viewers, will respectively be in charge of the 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. editions of France 2 during school holidays. We will therefore be able to see them on screen from the end of year holidays.

Maya Lauqué, Télématin journalist since 2021, will therefore take the place of Julian Bugier for the 1 p.m. weekday editions. As for Sonia Chironi, host of a daily news segment on Franceinfo, she will replace Laurent Delahousse during the 8 p.m. news on the weekend.

Maya Lauqué and Sonia Chironi already tested in the news

Sonia Chironi will take over from Thomas Sotto, a joker since 2017, but who recently joined RTL. Before officially taking up her duties, the 45-year-old journalist had the opportunity to be tested on several occasions during the summer holidays, during which she had the opportunity to present news in the first part of the evening. Maya Lauqué, who will replace Nathanaël de Rincquesen, was also able to try out this role during a previous test session during the year.

With these changes, the France Télévisions group wishes “rejuvenate and feminize your joker band”reports Le Parisien. For its part, TF1 announced at the end of October the appointment of Jean-Baptiste Boursier as Gilles Bouleau's new joker for the 20 Hours.
