Several Hollywood stars, who had supported Democrat Kamala Harris, shared their disappointment, even going so far as to want to leave the country, after the election of Donald Trump to the White House.

Several women artists expressed their dismay on social networks at the landslide victory of Donald Trump.

This is particularly the case of Billie Eilish, who proudly supported Harris. The 22-year-old singer posted a statement on an Instagram Story on Wednesday, writing: “This is a war on women.”

Singer Ariana Grande also expressed her dissatisfaction with the result in an Instagram story. “I hold the hand of every person who feels the immeasurable weight of the outcome today,” she wrote.

Christina Applegate reacted to an X publication. “Why? Give me your reasons? My child is crying because her rights as a woman are at risk of being taken away. For what? And if you don’t agree, don’t hesitate to unsubscribe,” the actress wrote.

Following Kamala Harris’ loss, Cardi B also spoke out, noting that she “hates everyone.” “I hate you all,” she wrote. I’m sick of you! […] I’m really sad.”

Actress Viola Davis, for her part, thanked the Democratic candidate for her “bravery”. “Thank you for loving the promise of America. I am and will always be proud,” she wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

American actress and producer, Jamie Lee Curtis, has called on women to “fight”. “But what it really means is that we wake up and we fight. Fight for women and our children and their future and fight against tyranny, one day at a time. One fight at a time. One event at a time. This is what it means to be American. This is what it has always meant and always will mean, no matter the outcome,” she wrote in an Instagram post.

Leave the country

American singer Cher reportedly told the Guardian earlier that she would leave the country permanently if Donald Trump won the presidential election.

In an interview in July, star Raven-Symoné reportedly told The View that she would leave the country if a Republican won the election.

According to the New York Post, Barbie actress America Ferrera is considering fleeing the United States for the sake of her children.

Ugly Betty is also “devastated” by Trump’s victory, she told the Daily Mail, specifying that she would prepare a new life in the United Kingdom with her family.
